Artelys is powering SEleNe CC’s Common Grid Model (CGM) Service
SEleNe CC is one of the six European Regional Coordination Centers (RCCs). Based in Thessaloniki in Greece, it supports power Transmission System Operators (TSOs) by providing integrated services to maintain the operational security of networks in Southeast Europe (SEE) 24/7.
Artelys has been providing maintenance and support services for the calculation module used in the Common Grid Model (CGM) Service for more than a year. This service is a cornerstone of key RCC processes such as Coordinated Capacity Calculation (CCC), Coordinated Security Analysis (CSA), and Outage Planning Coordination (OPC) that enable the operational coordination of the power grid of Southeast Europe. The calculation module is part of Unicorn’s Griffin Network Management System.
At the core of this CGM service, the EMF has been implemented. It consolidates individual grid models (IGMs) from each European TSOs into a unified CGM. It relies on the open-source tool PowSyBl Open LoadFlow. Artelys is one of its leading contributors with several experts involved in its development. The computation module is then fully integrated into Griffin.
Artelys is committed to the success of the EMF by providing the calculation module together with Unicorn both to SEleNe CC and to the Coreso and TSCNet driven CorNet program.
By combining open-source innovation with deep industry expertise, Artelys is strengthening the CGM service, supporting TSOs in increasing the energy transfer capacities of the existing power grid while maintaining secure operations in order to facilitate Europe’s energy transition.
