RTE has selected Knitro, the nonlinear solver developed by Artelys, together with AMPL, the modelling language distributed by Artelys, to solve flow optimization problems within the electricity transport network in France and Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problems in Europe. Artelys Knitro and AMPL are embedded in solutions used every day by RTE’s teams to evaluate network stability under several scenarios, and to derive guidelines for network operators.
