Senior Data Python Developer
For client or internal R&D projects, you will be responsible for Data Science development within SaaS or on premise. You will be involved in the entire data enhancement chain and then in the operational implementation of data science bricks by designing, developing and deploying operational software based on advanced algorithms in Machine Learning and numerical optimization.

Why join Artelys?

Joining Artelys means above all joining a dynamic and motivated team, a stimulating work environment and participating in varied and exciting projects. Working at Artelys offers the opportunity to deal with advanced technical issues within a talented team with the possibility of rapidly increasing your skills and responsibilities.

Artelys implements quantitative decision support solutions, using mathematical decision support models and algorithms: statistics, data analysis, artificial intelligence, numerical optimization and operations research.

Our activities applied to the key sectors of Energy, Transport, Mobility, Health and more generally to the public sector place Artelys as a key player in the ecological transition through the support and advice it provides to private companies and public institutions.

Some examples of recent projects carried out by Artelys:

  • On behalf of GRDF, Artelys is developing an operational software for climate correction of gas consumption based on individual data from Gazpar smart meters and on state-of-the-art statistical models. This software, deployed as SaaS on the AWS cloud, consists of a Python Dash interface, a set of operational workflows orchestrated by Apache Airflow and a large number of processing/calculation bricks in Python.
  • For RTE’s R&D department, Artelys has developed a tool, in the form of an R package, for the study of short-term forecasting models for photovoltaic and wind power production on a national and local scale, as well as for electricity consumption. The contribution of Artelys has enabled the comparison of the performance of Machine/Deep Learning models (XGboost, Multi-channel neural networks) to the statistical model approaches that are currently the reference in the field.

As part of a dynamic, high-level team, you will work jointly on R&D and customer projects, focusing on data valuation, design and implementation of operational software, leveraging advanced IA methods.

You will mobilize your skills to

  • Design and implement innovative and efficient software solutions mainly based upon Python for industrial problems
  • Gather user and business needs to build data collection and storage solutions that are best suited to the use cases presented
  • Develop technical solutions for data collection, cleaning and processing, then industrialise and automate these solutions
  • Participate in the implementation of technical architectures based on Data or Big Data oriented environment
  • Carry out developments aimed at industrialising statistical models and take part in the qualification of software
  • If the candidate wishes to do so, he/she will be responsible for developing machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to be integrated into operational data software

    what we are looking for

You are the ideal candidate if:

  • You hold an engineering degree, a master’s degree and/or a PhD
  • You have a first experience of at least 3 years as data developer, Python developer, developer or Data Engineer
  • You have advanced knowledge in Python
  • You have experience in implementing data processing chains within advanced data architecture: Kafka/Spark, Apache Airflow/Argo, AWS/Azure/OVH, Function As A Service
  • You are familiar with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (primarily Elastic stack, MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Knowledge of Flask or Django or a CI/CD Python stack is a plus
  • You are interested in the application of data to industrial domains (Energy, Transport, Mobility) and serving the general interest (Public Sector, Health)
  • You are autonomous, rigorous and have a strong team spirit.
  • In addition, a good fluency in French will be highly appreciated.

Any experience in our main business sectors (Energy, Transport, Mobility, Health) will be valued.

Experiencing a strong growth, Artelys is looking for proactive and creative employees, conscious about the added value of their work and motivated to take part in the development of our activities.
