The CorNet program aims at developing operational power grid management services at the European scale. In particular, the coordinated security analysis guarantees the safe operation of the power grid by simulating all the contingencies that may occur during the next day. Artelys develops the grid computation modules that will be integrated into the operational platform.

NEXT is an R&D project from ADEME, the French Environment and Energy Management Agency. It develops innovative software for the simulation and planning of smart grids in distribution networks. It thus brings an important contribution to the energy transition.

Description

Within a high-level R&D team, you will use your software engineering skills to:

  • Design and develop grid computation prototypes based on applied mathematics (Load Flow, Security Analysis, Optimal Power Flow)
  • Design and develop tools for the operational and strategic management of power grids together with the product owners and/or the customers
  • Translate functional requirements expressed by business analysts into technical requirements
  • Perform maintenance and support to customers
  • Our computations modules are mainly developed in Java, C++, and Python.

    what we are looking for

    We are an open-minded and young team, with a leaning towards applied sciences, in particular mathematics. Our innovative solutions are an ever-growing success both, and open the doors for more exciting topics.

    Beginner or experimented, you are the one we are looking for if:

  • You hold a master’s degree or a D. in power systems, electrical, electrotechnical engineering, or software engineering
  • You master at least one programming language (java, C++). Skills in python as well as in IT architecture and DevOps will be valued
  • You are experienced in power grid simulation (load flow)
  • You are motivated by innovation, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and are concerned about the customer’s needs, especially during the pre-sale phases
  • You have good communication skills. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is a plus
