Artelys develops the Artelys Crystal Energy suite, a range of software dedicated to the analysis and sizing of energy systems, used in key studies of the energy transition.
Our software programs enable to represent the entire energy system of territories of different scales (from a specific city to an entire continent), and to calculate the different characteristics of this system (investment and operating costs, environmental impacts, risks of supply failure, ect.) according to different hypotheses (e.g., development of energy prices, construction of new renewable energy production sites, development of the electric vehicle fleet, ect.). Theses calculations often require the resolution of complex optimization problems.
As part of a high level Energy team, you will mobilize your back end expertise development to:
- Participate in the design and development of the Artelys Crystal Energy suite products
- Assist the project managers in their use of the software (support, training). You will work in the same offices as the project managers
- You will be able to propose technical solutions to meet the functional needs expressed
Example of achievements in which you could participate:
- Implementation of models to evaluate the impact of carbon tax or carbon quota policies on consumption
- Innocative explanatory model of energy demand
- Connectivity of energy data to GIS

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are the ideal candidate if you have skills in:
- Backend programming (Java, Spring, REST API, Websockets, SQL)
- Object-oriented programming, design principles and software architectures (3-tier architectures)
- Data structures and algorithms
Other valued skills:
- Knowledge of scripting tools and languages (Shell, Maven)
- Knowledge of DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, GitlabCI, OpenStack) and/or software engineering (version management, automated testing, integration testing and continuous integration)
- Knowledge and/or interest in modeling complex energy systems
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Permanent position in our Paris, Nantes, Lyon, Montréal, Madrid or Brussels office
- Up to two days of remote working per week
