Environment
Committed to provide a quality of service to the users, local
communities have to optimally manage systems that are often
very complex. They also face growing responsibilities while
operating in compliance with the regulatory framework, which
reinforce the need for sound decision making processes.
Combining skills in numerical optimization, statistics and
data analysis, Artelys offers communities a wide range of
services and tools to optimize their system management. The
know-how of Artelys is notably acknowledged in water and sanitation
fields.
The gained experience in the course of projects with customers
in the wastewater treatment services led to design an overall
approach that best uses the available information on the network
and the plants. Artelys delivers efficient solutions for the
operational network management, as well as for network dimensioning.
The solutions provided to the operational management are
based on:
•
Gathering together reliable historical data (that are essential
to analyse the system and to design management policies);
•
Flows
forecast in order to anticipate critical situations.
For network dimensioning, a process for exceptional event
recognition is a necessary step and requires a prior collection
of previous measurements and some adjustments to make them
reliable.
Artelys is well aware of the stakes and complexity of building
a reliable dataset. Consequently, it has designed processes
to make the measurements coherent and developed specific software
components, Artelys Identification
© and Artelys Nimbus ©.
Regarding flows
forecasts, Artelys has combined different statistical
methods to design an automated forecasting process based on
historical datasets. This methodology is regularly used in
different industrial fields and quickly provides efficient
forecasting models for any key location in the network, whether
it is an entry node (major rainfall impact), an exit node
(treatment plant) or inside the network. These local forecasting
models may also be enriched with data processing for reliability
purposes, similar to the existing ones in the Artelys
Identification © and Artelys
Nimbus © tools.
