ROADEF 2009
Artelys partner of Challenge ROADEF 2009
Artelys supports the prestigious challenge ROADEF 2009 organized
by the company Amadeus. The topic is the management of disruptions
in the aviation field. It is a matter of re-allocating resources
to take into account the uncertainties, such as mechanical
breakdowns, a strike or adverse weather conditions, in order
to minimize their impact on passengers.
The purpose of this challenge is twofold. On the one hand,
it allows the industry to improve their perception of recent
developments in the field of Operational Research and Decision
Support and it exposes young researchers to real-life and
often complex decision problems. On the other hand, it promotes
a partnership between industry and academia on industrial
projects requiring a combination of high scientific skills
and taking into account a complex operational reality.
The topic proposed for the 2009 edition of the challenge
requires a good command of the optimization techniques implemented
in the solvers marketed by Artelys. Participants will in particular
be able to rely on the Xpress-MP
suite to use mixed integer linear programming techniques and
on the Artelys
Kalis library to implement solutions based on constraints
programming techniques.
