FRET-SNCF reorganizes its production to improve its productivity
and to increase the quality of the services provided. This
reorganization concerns the definition of main traffic lines
on which flows are standardized, supplemented by freight zones
dedicated to the management of the initial and final courses
of conveyed goods.
This process of industrialization is based on the construction
of a production plan allocating to each customer's transport
request, a succession of convoys made of resources of production
(locomotive, train drivers...).
An optimization engine designed to help the construction of
optimized production plans was implemented and tested on crisis
situations, when tensions on the available resources are strongest.
