Release of KNITRO 5

Ziena
Optimization and Artelys announce the release of version
5 of the nonlinear optimization software package KNITRO. This
new version benefits from major algorithmic additions that
reinforce KNITRO's efficiency on a wide range of models. KNITRO
is developed by Ziena Optimization and distributed in continental
Europe by Artelys.
New features
A new specialized function of KNITRO makes it possible to
handle explicitly mathematical problems with equilibrium constraints
(MPEC) and both interior-point and active set methods achieve
good performance. Such problems often arise within energy
markets, optimal design and network pricing problems.
A crossover procedure enables the user to access to an accurate
estimate of the active set and Lagrange multipliers at the
optimum even if the interior-point procedure has been called.
A few active set method iterations are called at the end of
the optimization process in order to identify precisely the
optimal active set. KNITRO is the first nonlinear programming
solver which implements such procedure.
You will find out more about KNITRO here.
